A CSA share in two minutes, and it bills itself
Shares, billing, pickup sites, holiday weeks, and member skips in one place. Your members subscribe on your public farm page and pay by card; you see who is coming, what goes in the box, and what cleared the bank.
Billing that fits your season
Weekly, up front, or installments
Charge weekly, biweekly, monthly, in installments, or all up front. Each share carries its own billing mode and season end, so a half-animal lamb share and a weekly veggie box run on the same roster without sharing a schedule. Holiday weeks skip automatically and pay-up-front totals adjust to the weeks you actually deliver, so a member who pays for the season is never charged for the Thanksgiving week you closed. The charge fires the number of days before delivery that you choose.
- Weekly, biweekly, monthly, installments, or all up front
- Charge offset in days before each delivery
- Pay-up-front totals recomputed when a week is closed
Variants and add-ons
Small, medium, large, plus eggs
One share, several sizes, and the extras members keep asking for. Variants carry their own price and capacity; add-ons like eggs, flowers, or bread bill with the share, not as a second charge. Pack-out groups by variant so the small boxes do not get the large box's kale. Each member's size and add-ons are part of their subscription, so the question of who gets eggs this week is answered from the list, not from a spreadsheet you keep beside it.
Flex shares
Let me swap the kohlrabi
Members swap items in their box up to a cutoff you set. Swaps carry provenance, so the pick list knows what changed and why. You decide which items are swappable and how many swaps a week allows; the default box is what packs when a member does nothing. A swap made in the portal reaches the pick list before you pack, so the change arrives with the list instead of by text on Friday night.
Pickup logistics
Full? They wait in line
Members pick their site at signup. Each site carries its own capacity; when it fills, new signups join a waitlist and are told when a spot frees up. The pick list groups by site, one pile per drop, so pack-out matches the van route. Print it for the cooler or read it on your phone at the drop. When a member needs a different site, you can move them from the roster instead of starting their subscription over.
- Sites with capacity and a waitlist
- One pick list per drop, printed or on the phone
- Move a member to another site from the roster
The CSA cockpit
Whose card failed this week
One roster for the season: active, paused, past due, and canceled members in tabs, with a banner that counts whose card has failed. Open a member to see their charges, and message them from the same row before a failed card turns into a lost member. Paused members have their own tab, so the roster tells you who the pick list will leave out before you start packing.
Dunning
The card expired. You do not chase
A failed charge retries on its own at 24, 48, and 72 hours. The member gets a plain email with a link to update the card on the first failure, and again if every retry fails. You see the state on the roster and can charge again by hand from the member's page; most of the time you do nothing.
