Who it's for

PlotsFarm for market gardeners

0.5 to 3 acres

Thirty crops, eight successions of lettuce, two market days, and a cooler that has to be empty by Sunday night. Your week runs from the plan to the bed to the table to the bank, and every hand-off is where the spreadsheet loses something. PlotsFarm keeps the planting, the task, the harvest lot, the store listing, and the deposit on one record, so the Saturday table is stocked from what you actually picked.

What it fixes for market gardeners

The problem

Eight sowings of lettuce on paper, and the one that keeps you in salad mix in July is the one that slipped two weeks in May. You find the gap when the table is empty.

What PlotsFarm does

Successions dated from the market

Enter the harvest date you are aiming for and stagger the sowings at your interval; PlotsFarm dates each one backward from it, warns when a bed is packed too dense, and writes the tasks for every planting. Move a succession to another bed, or swap two, from its menu. The Gantt shows the empty week as white space, and plan-health rules flag a succession gap early.

Lettuce (Salanova) · 8 successions · Bed 4 to Bed 11 · first harvest Sat May 9

The problem

You picked Thursday, the market is Saturday, and by Friday night nobody is sure what is still good in the cooler or how much of it is already promised.

What PlotsFarm does

The cooler counts itself

Fill the bulk harvest sheet for the whole pick morning and save once. Every row becomes a lot with on hand, committed, and available columns and a shelf life, so Saturday morning you read what you can still sell, not what you picked. Anything within three days of turning carries an expiring badge on the dashboard, and a quantity typed wrong is fixed from the phone.

42 lb · Carrot (Bolero) · Bed 7 · expiring Tue · 30 lb available

The problem

Carrots sell out every week and you still cannot say whether they made money after the seed, the compost, and the hours of weeding.

What PlotsFarm does

Net per crop, not per season

Book costs in six categories against a planting, a bed, a field, or the farm, and water cost books itself weekly from your irrigation zones and your rate. Each planting card shows revenue minus the costs attributed to it, with a plain note when shared costs exist. At season end the crops report ranks everything by net, so next year's drop is a decision, not a feeling.

Crop planning

Plan by bed, by week, by market date

The crop library carries vegetables, herbs, cut flowers, and fruit with days to maturity, spacing, and yield per row foot; override any number once and it sticks to your farm. Your bed width warns you when a planting is packed too dense, so the seed order is right in March. Interplant two crops in one bed, move or swap successions between beds, and read the whole season on a Gantt by bed.

Harvests and inventory

Harvest once, counted everywhere

Log at the bed on your phone or in bulk on the web. Each harvest creates a lot with on hand, committed, and available columns, so you know what you can still sell on Saturday rather than what you picked on Thursday. Shelf life drives an expiring badge at three days. Fix a quantity from August and every total updates with it.

Tasks and team

The plan writes the list

Every planting generates its own sow, transplant, weed, side-dress, harvest, and pull tasks, each tagged with field, bed, and crop so it is obvious where to walk. Shift a sow date and the list follows. Subscribe your calendar app and get the morning summary where you already look. Print the day's sheet when gloves beat glass.

Online store and pre-orders

Order by Tuesday, pick up Saturday

One public farm page lists your a la carte products with per unit pricing, inventory tied to harvest lots, and a weekly order window for pre-orders. Buyers check out by card without creating an account. The fulfillment view builds a pick list per window and tracks each order from ready to collected.

Costs and performance

Which crop made you money

Six cost categories across planting, bed, field, and farm, with a per planting net card that says plainly when shared costs exist. Water cost books itself weekly from your irrigation zones and your rate. At season end the crops report ranks everything by net, so the one that cost you money is the one you drop next year.
