Who it's for

PlotsFarm for CSA farms

2 to 10 acres

Eighty members, two pickup sites, a Wednesday box and a Saturday box, and a card that expires somewhere every week. A CSA week is a roster, a pick list, and a bank balance that all have to agree. PlotsFarm runs the shares, the billing, the pickups, and the retries on the same login as the plan and the harvest log, so the box you pack is the box you planted for.

What it fixes for csa farms

The problem

Forty members, three pickup sites, and a spreadsheet that says who paid. One expired card and you are chasing it on a Tuesday.

What PlotsFarm does

Billing that chases itself

Set a share up once: name, price, season window, delivery day, and how many days before delivery the charge fires. Members pay by card from your farm page. A failed charge retries at 24, 48, and 72 hours, the member gets a plain email on the first failure and again if every retry fails, and a banner on your roster counts failed cards until they are fixed.

Summer veggie share · 78 active · 2 failed cards · next retry in 24 hours

The problem

Wednesday's boxes go to the church lot and the downtown shop, small and large, some with eggs. The pack-out sheet is in someone's head, and that someone is sick.

What PlotsFarm does

One pick list per drop

The pick list builds itself from the roster: grouped by pickup site, then by share size, with add-ons like eggs or a bouquet on their own line per member. Skips and pauses from the member portal drop out of it on their own. Harvest the morning on one bulk sheet, and each row becomes a lot in the cooler the box is packed from.

Downtown site · 31 shares (12 small, 19 large) · 9 egg add-ons · Wed Jun 10

The problem

A member who missed three pickups is a member you are about to lose, and you usually find out when the renewal email goes unanswered in February.

What PlotsFarm does

Reach members before they go quiet

The CSA roster sorts members into active, paused, past due, and canceled, and you can message a member from the same row. Members skip, pause, and resume from their portal instead of going quiet. At season end the rollover wizard copies your shares to next season and emails last season's members an early signup link before you open to the public.

CSA management

Shares that bill themselves

Set a share up in two minutes: name, price, season window, delivery day, and how many days before delivery the charge fires. Pick weekly, pay up front, or monthly installments per share. Offer small, medium, and large with their own capacity, add eggs or a bouquet as a weekly add-on, and mark the Thanksgiving week closed so nothing bills and nothing packs. Members skip, pause, and swap from their portal.

Payments

Set up in the app, paid to your bank

Payments onboarding happens inside PlotsFarm, not on a redirected dashboard, and the flow always shows which of six states your account is in. Members pay by card. A failed charge retries at 24, 48, and 72 hours before anyone has to chase. Payouts and balance sit on your own payments page.

Harvests and inventory

The box comes from the cooler, not the plan

Bulk harvest entry turns a pick morning into one save, and every row becomes a lot with on hand, committed, and available columns. Shelf life flags anything within three days of turning, so the cooler clears into this week's box instead of next week's compost. Actual against expected shows on each planting card, which is how next season's share list gets honest.

Online store and pre-orders

One pile per drop

Members who want more than the share buy a la carte from the same farm page: a flat of strawberries, a dozen eggs, a holiday turkey. Orders close on the window you set and land on the same pick list, grouped by pickup site so pack-out matches the van route. You mark orders ready, then collected, from the orders page at the drop.

Weather and sensors

The week before the frost

Your frost dates drive the plan, and the dashboard shows the next frost on the horizon along with a frost-watch banner when a tender planting is at risk. Connect your own Ecowitt weather station and read the farm's numbers, not the airport's. Rain in the forecast feeds a rain-skip suggestion for each irrigation zone.

Pricing

Start on the free tier

Free is a plan, not a trial. Plan the season, work the task list, log harvests, run a CSA and an online store, and take payments, with no subscription and no card. Selling carries a per-transaction fee; the numbers are on the pricing page.
